Connecting in a Connected World
Are digital relationships authentic? Can online discussions lead to discovery? Do apps, chats, and other digital platforms allow us to understand, and really see, others?
Digital platforms promise to keep us in touch with friends and colleagues we might otherwise lose track of. But many technologies encourage shallow conversations, while others broadcast private comments to large groups. Have you ever been surprised by something another person has said to you online-or been surprised by the words you’ve used? Have chats, videos, or texts opened the way to new friendships or closed off old ones? How can we do better at seeing each other online?
The dialogue table offers the opportunity to discuss these topics in a forum that won’t be liked, pinned, or posted. Come to connect with peers and neighbors in person in De Voorkamer!
