Movie Screening - This is Exile: Diaries of Child Refugees
‘This is Exile’: een intiem, schrijnend portret van kinderen die het geweld van de burgeroorlog in Syrië zijn ontvlucht naar vluchtelingenkampen in buurland Libanon. Emmy Award-winnaar Mani Yassir Benchelah filmde gedurende een jaar het dagelijks leven van de kinderen, die in hun eigen woorden vertellen hoe zij omgaan met verlies, ontberingen en gebroken dromen.
Na de screening is er een Q&A met Alaeddin Janid, de oprichter van Happy Caravan. Happy Caravan is een organisatie die sociale, therapeutische en educatieve steun biedt aan vluchtelingenkinderen en hun families in Europa.
Deze screening is mogelijk gemaakt door een samenwerking tussen Movies that Matter en De Voorkamer.

'This is Exile' is an extraordinary, intimate portrait of child refugees forced to flee from the violence of Syria's civil war to neighbouring Lebanon. Filmed over a year by the Emmy-award winning director Mani, the documentary tells the stories of the children's lives in their own words and captures the moving truth of how they deal with loss, hardship and the poignancy of dashed hopes.
After the screening we will have a Q&A together with Alaeddin Janid, the founder of Happy Caravan. Happy Caravan is an organization who aims to provide basic social, therapeutic and educational support to refugee children and their families in Europe.
