“Syria's Disappeared” is a documentary that tells the hidden story of tens of thousands men, women and children who disappeared under the regime of President Bashar al Assad into a network of clandestine detention centres. The film weaves together the powerful personal stories of three Syrians with evidence gathered from regime documentation smuggled out of Syria. With unprecedented access, we follow survivors of detention, families of detainees, regime defectors and international war crimes investigators as they fight to bring the perpetrators to justice and desperately campaign for the release of the disappeared.

We'll start the evening with a short introduction, we'll watch the documentary and finally there will be a panel of speakers relating to the topic.
The documentary is mainly in English with parts which are spoken in Arabic with English subtitles.

فيلم "مغيبو سوريا" هو فيلم وثائقي يحكي قصة عشرات الآلاف من الرجال والنساء والأطفال الذين اختفوا في ظل نظام بشار الأسد وذلك ضمن شبكة من مراكز الاعتقال السرية. ينسج الفيلم معاً القصص الشخصية القوية لثلاثة سوريين مع أدلة تم جمعها من وثائق النظام المهربة من سوريا. في وصول هو الأول من نوعه لبيانات سرية، سنتابع الناجين من المعتقل، وعائلاتهم، والمنشقين عن النظام، وفريق من المحققين الدوليين في جرائم الحرب بينما يكافحون من أجل تقديم الجناة إلى العدالة والحملة اليائسة من أجل إطلاق سراح المغيبين.

سنبدأ الأمسية بمقدمة قصيرة، وسنشاهد بعدها الفيلم الوثائقي وأخيراً سيكون هناك فريق من المتحدثين للتعليق على الموضوع.
الفيلم الوثائقي هو باللغة الإنجليزية بشكل رئيسي مع الأجزاء التي يتم التحدث بها بالعربية مع ترجمة إلى الإنجليزية.
